A magnitude 4.9 earthquake has struck the Taiwan Region at a depth of 9.9 km (6.2 miles), the quake hit at 11:22:30 UTC Wednesday 31st August 2011.
The epicenter was 109 km ( 68 miles) South of T'ai-tung, Taiwan
No Tsunami Warning Issued - No reports of Damage or Injuries at this time
