A magnitude 5.7 earthquake has struck the New Ireland Region, Papua New Guinea at a depth of 49.4 km (30.7 miles), the quake hit at 10:46:50 UTC Wednesday 31st August 2011.
The epicenter was 167 km ( 103 miles) South of Taron, New Ireland, Papua New Guinea
No Tsunami Warning Issued - No reports of Damage or Injuries at this time
