|  A magnitude 4.9 earthquake has struck the Kuril Islands at a depth of 34.7 km (21.6 miles), the quake hit at 05:02:31 UTC Wednesday 31st August 2011. The epicenter was 161 km ( 100 miles) South of Severo-Kuril'sk, Kuril Islands, Russia No Tsunami Warning Issued - No reports of Damage or Injuries at this time | |
