A magnitude 4.8 earthquake has struck Samar, Philippines at a depth of 48.2 km ( 30 miles), the quake hit at 09:00:24 UTC Tuesday 2nd August 2011.
The epicenter was 147 km (92 miles) ENE of Calbayog. Samar, Philippines
